Welcome to Vigorstats

Welcome to VigorStats.

VigorStats is a small stats recording program for the Draytek Vigor 2800 series.

The program is simple to use, and creates a CSV file of most of the Vigor's stats, like SNR, Attenuation and Error rates. The CSV file can be opened by many popular charting packagages, such as Microsoft Excel.

Vigorstats provides three distinct advantages over the incomplete SNMP in the current 2800 firmware:
  • It records SNR levels down to 0.5 rather than just whole numbers
  • It provides various error counts, like HEC, FEC and CRC
  • It logs delta error rates as well as cumulative
  • It logs Bits-per-bin encoded by the modem
  • It has a high-CRC audible alarm feature

Please note this software is provided with no warranty, expressed or implied. The software is of Beta quality.

Get the latest (and terminal) version 4.4 of VigorStats here:

www.bug-byte.co.uk/vigorstats/vigorstats44.exe

Please note I no longer have a Vigor 2800 to test on, so 4.4 is the latest and last version.

VigorStats 4.2

Vigorstats 4.2 Changes
-----------------------

Fixed delta error values going negative after retrain
Added CRC high audio alarm threshold ; 0 = no alarm ; don't set too low a value!
Removed Run button while running
Display last delta CRC on status line
Added Missing password warning dialogue
Added some tooltips

VigorStats 4.1

Version 4.1 Release notes
--------------------------
Logfile now called vigorstats.csv
Quit button added
Extra 5 fields (FcDeltaCRC, FcDeltaHEC etc) added at start of log, showing changes/delta error rates (derrived from the other fields). Not sure all these fields are populated by the vigor.
Only Fast Channel delta errors, not Interleaved.
Default sample period changed from 5 minutes to 1 minute
Latest data collection time displayed correctly
Please note error handling is not very robust in this version. If you telnet in to you router, or open the CSV file while vigorstats is running it is probable it will stop recording. This will be fixed in a future release.
